Bandipora, May 22: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYS&S) Bandipora, in partnership with the District Administration, continued to host various events and remained abuzz with diverse activities despite the G20 Summit being held in J&K. This was done at the behest of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmad.

Students from Zones Quilmuqam and Gurez went on a fantastic educational excursion organised by the DYS&S. The purpose of the tour was to celebrate the spirit of G20 while also learning about the rich history of places like the Haba Khatun Peak and the Baba Shakur U Din Shrine.

There were as many as 160 lucky youngsters, both boys and girls, from each zone who got to go on this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Teachers and staff made sure they were safe and guided them the whole way.

The children were mesmerised by the stunning architecture of the ancient places, learning to value their legacy and history in the process. The trip was an excellent educational opportunity that instilled in us a deep appreciation for and love of our region’s rich heritage.

In addition to the educational field trips, the District Youth Service Officers of Bandipora and the Bandipora District Administration put on an exciting volleyball match at HSS Nadihal. The event was a celebration of the G20 spirit, with the goal of encouraging students to work together and compete in a friendly manner.

Both the NM BHSS Bandipora and HSS Nadihal teams came into the game with high levels of talent and commitment. NM BHSS Bandipora won in the end, demonstrating their skill and perseverance.

Assistant Commissioner of Revenue for the District of Bandipora Shabir Ahmad Wani presided over the proceedings. The DYS&S maintains its emphasis on students’ physical, intellectual, and cultural development.
