DPS Budgam Runs Environmental Protection Initiative

On June 7th, DPS Budgam in Srinagar marked World Environment Day with events and activities.

The fifth of June is observed annually as World Environment Day (WED). On this day, people all around the world get together to celebrate Earth Day and dedicate themselves to better understanding and safeguarding our planet.

On June 5th, students around celebrated this momentous day in their lives. To celebrate, there was a special meeting at which the need of taking action to preserve the planet and guarantee future generations’ safety was emphasised. A prayer was spoken to open the assembly, and then there was some singing, some sharing of ideas, and some stunning dance performances all related to the topic at hand. With speeches and signs, students and faculty members alike emphasised the need of taking care of Earth’s resources. The assembly was a huge success and unquestionably raised kids’ levels of consciousness about the need to protect and preserve our world.

Speaking at the event, DPS Budgam Principal Mehfooz Aslam highlighted the need of encouraging eco-friendly lifestyles and policies among students and staff. He pushed the pupils to analyse environmental issues from several perspectives and come up with creative solutions.

There was a chance to teach children about environmental issues and how to solve them on this special day. It inspired kids to develop an appreciation for the environment and to take responsibility for protecting it through their daily lives.

There is little doubt that celebrating Environmental Day in the classroom has been essential in raising students’ levels of environmental consciousness and motivating them to act as responsible global citizens.
