Srinagar's top maternity hospital is allegedly hacked and an impostor 'treats' a patient for three days

Srinagar, September 20 (IANS) An imposter acting as a doctor “treated” patients at Srinagar’s best maternity hospital for three days until he was nabbed on Wednesday.According to credible reports, the imposter spent three days in the labour ward of Lal Ded hospital spying on expectant mothers.

The public has been startled by this security lapse because it puts at risk the lives of women from all over the Valley who have come to the hospital for emergency obstetric care.

According to the hospital’s medical director, Dr. Muzaffar Sherwani, the imposter was discovered while making rounds in the delivery room.When challenged, the imposter claimed to be a cardiologist from the Dialgam neighbourhood of Anantnag. “When we sought for credentials to back up his claims, he couldn’t provide them. We reported him to the police and they took him into custody,” he stated.

Dr. Sherwani has said that the hospital’s security would be audited in order to determine how such a major security breach went undetected.According to the police, the arrested imposter is really from the neighbouring Ganderbal district.

It seems that he is experiencing mental health problems. According to a reliable source, the police have contacted his loved ones to learn the truth.
