Kupwara, June 6: A five-year-old child died after slipping into a well in Zangli, Kupwara district, north Kashmir.

Inspector Mohammad Rafiq, Station House Officer (SHO) Kupwara, informed Greater Kashmir that the youngster suffered critical injuries after falling into a nearby well. “Upon hearing screams, the locals immediately launched a rescue operation and evacuated her to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara.” “However, doctors on the scene declared her dead on arrival,” he continued.

Deeba Jan, the daughter of Ghulam Nabi Khan and a resident of Zangli Kupwara, has been recognised.

Police have opened a case on this matter, and further investigation has begun.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man was murdered after being struck by a car in Kupwara’s Drugmulla district.

The dead was promptly sent to SDH Kupwara, but he died as a result of his injuries.

Ali Mohammad Bhat, son of Khazir Mohammad of Vilgam Handwara, was eventually recognised as him.
