Soon after the accident, the tanker driver, who was identified as Jagvinder Singh and was a native of Handwara, was taken to the hospital in Banihal.
Banihal, July 07: Late on Thursday evening, a fuel tanker that was travelling from Jammu to Srinagar through the route turned over near Char Chinar Banihal, causing the driver to sustain injuries.
According to the officials, there was an oil leak coming from one of the tanker’s chambers. They said that there were “fire tenders, police, and volunteers on the spot.”

An officer with the police department said that the driver of the tanker, a man named Jagvinder Singh who resides in Handwara, was hurt in the collision and was sent to the Banihal hospital shortly after it occurred.
