On September 8 (ANI), Colombo, Sri Lanka: The Super Four stage match between India and Pakistan is planned to take place on September 10 at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and a reserve day has been established by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

According to the ACC, if bad weather prevents play from continuing during the India vs. Pakistan game, play will resume on September 1 where it left off.

In such a case, ticket holders are urged to hang onto their match tickets since they will still be good for the reserve day and stay valid.

The India vs. Pakistan game has been allowed an exemption to the rule that the Asia Cup final may only be played on the reserve day.

India will play Sri Lanka on September 12 in its next Super Four encounter after their contest with Pakistan.

India and Pakistan’s group stage match was abandoned due to rain, with each side earning one point. With the aid of Hardik Pandya’s 87 and Ishan Kishan’s 82, India were bowled out for 266 in 48.5 overs, setting themselves a respectable goal. Rain, however, decided to ruin things, and Pakistan was not even given a chance to face a ball.

The PCB, the official tournament hosts, were on board with plans to move the Colombo matches to Hambantota because rain was also predicted for the following week. However, eventually, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) sent a mail to the stakeholders stating that the matches would be played in Colombo as originally scheduled, according to ESPNcricinfo.

Sunday’s India vs. Pakistan game is also threatened by rain, with a 90% probability of precipitation. Jasprit Bumrah, India’s star bowler who missed the match against Nepal to give birth to his kid, may play again if the weather improves. (ANI)
