He honoured the 36,250 police officers who have died in the line of duty while defending the nation’s internal security and the protection of its frontiers since independence at the National Police Memorial in New Delhi.

The sacrifice made by the families of these deceased cops was the cornerstone of today’s Indian advancement in all spheres, according to Shah, who also assured the families that India will never forget their offering.

In comparison to other employees who work for the government, he said that police officers have the hardest jobs. Whether it is day or night, winter or summer, a holiday or a routine day, they are unable to spend time with their family to celebrate holidays.

All of our police officers, according to the home minister, spend their golden years away from their loved ones guarding the nation’s extensive land border. They do this with courage and sacrifice.

He claimed that police officers had proven their worth on every occasion, whether it was in battling terrorists, stopping crime, upholding law and order in the face of a crowd, defending common people during accidents and disasters, or being on the front lines during trying times like the coronavirus pandemic, protecting the populace.

According to Shah, 188 police officers gave their lives in the line of duty between September 1, 2022, and August 31, 2023 to keep the nation safe and preserve law and order.

Amrit Kaal had received a call, according to him, from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Home Minister said that from the end of the nation’s first seventy-five years of independence to its one hundredth, these 25 years were dedicated to elevating the nation to the top spot in every industry.

“For this purpose, 130 crore people of the country have taken pledge both collectively and individually, and with these resolutions, no one will be able to stop us from reaching the top of every field in the world,” he added.

Shah said that thanks to the work of our gallant officers, terrorism, naxalism, and ethnic violence had decreased by 65 percent from their highest levels in the last ten years.

According to him, over the last several years, troops from various police forces have worked via NDRF to establish a solid reputation and achieve success in the area of disaster management not only in their own country but also internationally.

The Home Minister said that the Government of India, led by Prime Minister Modi, was proposing three new legislation that will fundamentally alter our criminal justice system as she entered the Amrit Kaal of India’s Independence.

In addition to reflecting Indianness, he said that these three laws will safeguard each citizen’s rights in accordance with the spirit of the Indian Constitution, replacing rules that have been in effect for 150 years and date back to the British Empire.

PM Modi, according to Shah, has made a point of terminating the pending status of court proceedings.

Using the Police Technology Mission, three new laws, and ICJS, he claimed that the nation will succeed in bringing openness and speed to the Criminal Justice System under his leadership.

The Home Minister said that the Modi administration has maintained its zero-tolerance approach to terrorism by enacting stringent legislation and making steps to improve the Police via the creation of the Police Technology Mission.

He claimed that the PM Modi-led administration had made necessary adjustments to the Central Ex-gratia, Disability Ex-gratia, Air Courier Services, Housing Scheme, CAPF e-Awas Web Portal, Prime Minister Scholarship Programme, and Central Police Welfare Store for the welfare of police officers.

The Police Memorial, according to Shah, honours the sacrifice and commitment of police officers to preserving the country. It is more than just a memorial.

He said that the administration has a strong commitment to the wellbeing of police officers and their families.

The event also included the presence of the Union Home Secretary and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Kumar Mishra.
