After getting information regarding the possible movement of terrorists in the region, a senior official reportedly informed Greater Kashmir that the CASO was initiated late Wednesday afternoon.

“The CASO is still ongoing as we have inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area,” the official added.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Sopore, the Commanding Officer of the 22nd Rapid Deployment Regiment (RR) of the Indian Army, and senior CRPF officials are also there.

Over the past few months, the Police, the Army, and other security agencies have worked together to intensify their search operations in the Baramulla district. This has resulted in the arrests of numerous terror associates and the disruption of numerous terrorist modules in the area.
