Kupwara district was the primary target of infiltration efforts this year in Kashmir. After repeated infiltration attempts in Kupwara, the Army has increased patrols along the Line of Control (LOC) in that region, which begins in Nowgam and is under the command of the 19th Infantry Division and continues to the Gurez districts, which are under the command of the 28th Infantry Division, also stationed in Kupwara.
