29 September, Islambad According to officials, an explosion in Pakistan has resulted in at least 50 fatalities and more than 50 injuries.

On Friday, while people were gathering to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, an explosion took place close to a mosque in the Balochistan region of the southwest.

The religious gathering in Mastung city was the target of what the authorities believe to have been a suicide assault. A state of emergency has been proclaimed by authorities.

According to the authorities, the injured are being taken to two hospitals. The number of deaths was verified to BBC News by two Mastung municipal police officers. The explosion was described as a “very heinous act” by Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti.

Social media is flooded with footage of first responders and people saving the hurt. No organisation has taken ownership of the assault.
