Srinagar, September 19: According to police, the Kokernag operation, which started last week in the Gadole forest region of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, claimed the lives of two terrorists, including LeT commander Uzair Khan.
Speaking to reporters, Additional Director General of Police for Kashmir Vijay Kumar stated that although one corpse is still at the scene of the encounter, Uzair Khan’s body has already been removed.
In response to a query, Kumar said that they had information indicating the presence of 1-2 terrorists nearby. He said that searches were being conducted in the vicinity to seek for the third terrorist.
The confrontation that broke out last Wednesday in the Gadole region of Kokernag resulted in the deaths of an Army colonel, a major, a soldier, and a DySP of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
