Mehbooba Mufti re-elected PDP president for 3 years

Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was re-elected Thursday as president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Srinagar.

Ghulam Nabi Hanjura and Vice President and Senior Leader of the PDP Abdul Rehman Veeri both supported Veeri’s nomination of Mufti for president.

She received a voice vote from senior party officials, who said she would serve for three years.

According to a tweet from a PDP spokesperson earlier today, Vice President A R Veeri has proposed the name of @MehboobaMufti as the President, and General Secretary G N L Hanjura has seconded it. Voting is now taking place orally.
