Srinagar, August 25: On Friday, the meteorological service recommended the appropriate authorities to exercise caution until August 26 since “rain over higher reaches may generate landslides, flash floods in vulnerable spots at lower catchments areas.”

According to a meteorological department official quoted by GNS, J&K could anticipate mainly gloomy weather with sporadic light to moderate rain throughout the course of the next 24 hours.

He predicted that the weather will be mostly overcast on August 26 with the risk of “intermittent light to moderate rain at scattered places.”

“All concerned are advised to remain cautious during August 25–26th even though there is no forecast for heavy rain because rain over higher reaches may generate landslides and flash floods in vulnerable spots at lower catchments areas,” he warned.

He predicted that the weather will be partly to mostly overcast from August 27 to August 28.
