Sep. 4 – New Delhi Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will call the first meeting of the newly formed Congress Working Committee (CWC), the party’s top decision-making body, in Hyderabad, Telangana, with an eye on the Assembly elections for Telangana that are due for later this year.

On September 17, Congress will also organise a public event to introduce the five assurances for the state and to publish an accusation against the Bharath Rashtra Samithi (BRS) administration in the state.

“As approved by the Congress President, the first meeting of the newly constituted CWC will be held on September 16 in Hyderabad,” said Congress General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal while speaking at a news conference at this location.

On September 17, all CWC members, PCC presidents, and CLP leaders will gather for an extended meeting of the CWC, he said.

“The party will introduce the five assurances for the forthcoming assembly elections in Telangana during a sizable public event that will take place in the evening close to Hyderabad. The CPP Chair Sonia Gandhi, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, and other top party figures will all be present at this significant public rally, according to Venugopal.

Additionally, he stated that following the open meeting, the Congress President would lead a cavalcade of CWC members, PCC presidents, and CLP leaders as they travelled to each of Telangana’s 119 assembly districts for a night stay on September 17 and to take part in party activities on September 18 in the designated assembly segments.

He said that the CWC members, PCC presidents, and CLP leaders must connect with local officials or workers and spend the Sunday night at the home of a member of Congress.

In the morning of September 18, according to Venugopal, the CWC Members, PCC Presidents, and CLP leaders must attend a workers meeting before taking part in the door-to-door distribution of five guarantees and a chargesheet against the BRS government.

According to him, the party would host an influentials-only community lunch on September 18 and hold a Bharat Jodo March that evening to a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, or Komaram Bheem.

Venugopal said that September 7 of last year was a tremendous day for the Congress since it marked the beginning of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, the longest padyatra in Indian political history, from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

“The yatra travelled 4,000 kilometres over 136 days, stopping in 75 districts and 76 Lok Sabha seats in 12 states and 2 union territories. In 275 scheduled strolling encounters, hundreds of informal contacts, and hundreds of group interactions, Rahul Gandhi discussed ideas with a billion people. The yatra covered a range of topics, including unemployment, China, and inflation, he claimed.
