Anantnag, Dec. 1: The district administration of Anantnag has implemented several effective measures, notably prohibiting the sale of gasoline to motorbikes carrying riders who are not wearing helmets, in response to the spike in traffic-related unintentional fatalities and injuries in which motorcycle riders are both the victims and the causes.

In a statement released here, an official spokesman stated that DC Anantnag Syed Fakhruddin Hamid, using the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988, had ordered strict adherence to this issued order, enabling the Tehsil Magistrates to examine the security footage of any gas station to detect any violations in this regard, which the order stated would be dealt with severely under the law.
Although the general public appreciates this ruling, additional actions of this kind are needed to prevent more innocent people from dying in traffic-related incidents and offenses.

Ghulam Muhammad Dar, the chairman of the local civil society and president of Jamia Masjid Aishmuqam, requested the government come up with a plan to prevent parked cars from obstructing lanes, by-lanes, and road connectors, since this might sometimes lead to accidents and traffic bottlenecks.

A young Anantnag resident named Sofi Sajad made a plea to the district administration, asking them to order the police, traffic police, urban local bodies, and tehsil administration to maintain a watch on the problem of reckless driving, which is more common in rural areas due to a lack of accountability and oversight.

The previous chairman of the Aishmuqam Municipal Council, Arfaat Sofi, shares this viewpoint as well. He has urged the Wakaf and other departments to keep parked cars off of Ziarat Road in Aishmuqam and similar routes, and he has also advocated for preserving speed limits on these roads to prevent accidents.

While expressing gratitude for the directive, Sheikh Tariq, the former president of the Anantnag Working Journalist Association, called for a social campaign to address the problem because family values and social grooming would undoubtedly aid in educating young bikers about the repercussions of reckless driving and other similar behaviors.

The district administration of Anantnag, in particular DC Anantnag S. F. Hamid, is renowned for its creative and inventive ideas that promote the welfare and convenience of ordinary people.
