Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Thursday that the construction of the Delhi-Katra motorway will usher in a new age of growth and wealth for the state.

The Chief Minister predicted that the project’s construction would be finished soon while accompanying Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to evaluate its progress. He said that the state government has offered the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) help and cooperation in order for the project to be completed on schedule.

The initiative, according to Mann, will significantly boost regional economic activity and bring up new job opportunities for young people.

The Chief Minister expressed optimism that the initiative will provide the state’s trade and commerce with the much-needed boost it needs to become the leading state in the nation.

He claimed that the Union Minister’s involvement would speed up this project’s progress and boost the state’s economy.

Along with boosting economic activity in the area, Mann said that the roadway will make it easier for pilgrims to visit the Mata Vaishno Devi temple.

The 254-km-long highway, which would run through nine of the state’s districts—Jalandhar, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Patiala, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, and Gurdaspur—will be built at a cost of Rs 11,510 crore, according to Mann.
