“Srinagar is now in the Model category since all of our rural areas have met or exceeded their goals. I’d want to offer my congratulations to the Rural Development Department for a job well done.

He also said that the Srinagar district is one of the 10 cleanest in India, according to the Swachh Sarvekshan Mission.

“Further, we will also work hard to meet the criteria for model villages and fulfil all the requirements,” he stated.

In answer to a question concerning road macadamization, he said that the Public Works Department and the Srinagar Municipal Corporation both do this service.

The two groups, he said, are hard at work in their respective domains, and they expect to wrap up their efforts shortly.
