Ramban, Dec. 19: Two-way travel of light, medium, and heavy trucks was still allowed on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.

However, owing to concerns about firing stones between Ramban and Banihal, traffic authors encouraged passenger car drivers to prefer traveling on the highway only during the day and avoid traveling at that time.

According to authorities, major car breakdowns were the reason for the continued delayed traffic on the roadway. Additionally, it continued to go slowly because of single-lane sections at Dalwass, Mehar-Cafeteria, Magarkote, Nachlana, and other locations because of the bad state of the road between the Nashri and Banihal tunnels.

Hundreds of light, medium, and heavy trucks have traversed the Nashri and Banihal tunnels as of late this evening, according to Ramban traffic authorities.
They added that the route is open and that cars are using it in a controlled manner to get to their designated destinations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Light, medium, and heavy trucks would be permitted to travel on both sides of the route, subject to favorable weather and road clearing, according to a new warning released by the Jammu and Kashmir traffic department for Wednesday.

Due to the fear of firing stones between Ramban and Banihal, passenger vehicle operators are urged to prefer traveling in Srinagar, Jammu, only during the day and to avoid traveling during the night.

In addition, they recommended commuters travel on highways only after verifying the road’s condition with the Traffic Control Units in Jammu, Srinagar, and Ramban.
