Ladakh, Oct. 8: Under tight security on Sunday, voting for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council began. JKNC is now in the lead in at least two of the council’s constituencies.

A candidate named Gyan told ANI that the district government has established an excellent security arrangement. We are praying for the best for our applicant.
“We are about to enter the counting hall; security arrangements are good,” BJP candidate Pancham told ANI.

According to the total number of votes cast in the third round of voting for the 5th LAHDC elections, this time around, over 77% of voters participated in the Kargil district.

Following a decision from the Supreme Court, the Ladakh administration declared a revised timetable for elections to the fifth LAHDC in the Kargil area earlier last month.

After the Supreme Court overturned the UT administration’s earlier election notice because NC candidates were unable to submit nominations, it also reinstated the National Conference’s party symbol for the impending election.

Elections for 26 seats in the 30-member LAHDC were conducted on October 4 in accordance with the announcement.

According to official statistics, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) is in the lead in the constituencies of Bhimbat and Padum.

Before October 11, the new council is expected to be in place. (with assistance from our correspondent and ANI)
