Nitin Gadkari, a minister for the government of India, said that the Khellani tunnel will be made into a two-lane building. “NH-244 is making the one-way Khellani tunnel in Doda area into a two-lane building. It is a part of the Sudh Mahadev-Goha-Khellani-Chatroo-Khanabal highway, which will be an alternative route to Batote-Kishtwar, said Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Roads and Highways.

It will likely cut 30 kilometres off of the journey between Doda and Kishtwar. The project will cover 2.419 km and is part of package 3. The project will cost more than Rs 431 crore.

The plan is to finish the project this year.

Chugh thanked the Union Minister and said, “Since Article 370 was taken away, peace, prosperity, and development have come to all of J&K.” He said that the BJP government, which is run by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to making big changes in J&K and for its people.
