Claims of a ‘child abduction gang operating in Srinagar’ are false, according to police

It is emphasised that no recent incidents of child abduction have occurred in the Srinagar district.

Srinagar, July 3: The Srinagar Police Department explained on Monday that reports of a child abduction ring operating in the city were a “mischievous rumour” and “fake news.”

“There’s a malicious allegation going around about a child abduction ring operating in Srinagar. “It is clarified that no recent incident of child kidnapping has occurred in the Srinagar district,” it claimed in a tweet. The general population is urged not to believe such unsubstantiated and fraudulent news, according to the statement.
