On June 12th, a conference was held under Sheikh Fayaz’s direction in Srinagar to discuss the department’s performance so far.

Kashmir’s Director of Floriculture, the Floriculture Department’s Director of Finance, the Floriculture Department’s Additional Secretary, and other relevant officials were all present (in person or by video conference) at the meeting.

The Floriculture Director reported on the company’s overall financial performance for the 2022–2023 fiscal year. The expenditures were Rs 10.58 crore, but the total budget was Rs 13.85 crore. In addition, in the fiscal year 2023-24, 115 projects were carried out at a total cost of Rs 16.55 crore, with a total of Rs 6.15 crore already disbursed to different initiatives.

In addition, it was reported that the division had achieved its income goals for the fiscal year 2022-23, producing Rs 12.60 crore as opposed to the aim of Rs 8.52 crore. The projected income for the year 2023-24 is Rs 11.84 crore, yet as of the end of May 2023, just Rs 3.66 crore has been achieved.

The remaining monies would be distributed quickly, the Commissioner Secretary informed the officials, so all current projects in the Kashmir division would be finished on time. He praised the division for its work in putting on the finest celebration in the history of Srinagar’s famous Tulip Garden.

During the G20 Working Tourism meeting, the Commissioner Secretary spoke up the Floriculture department’s hard work in enhancing the appearance of the meeting avenues and parks. He was pleased with the progress made in the last three years in terms of landscaping for floriculture and gardens.

The Commissioner-Secretary urged the officials to suggest strategies for prospective initiatives. He praised their dedication to improving parks under their control.
