December 20, Baramulla: Dr. Syed Sehrish, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) of Baramulla, presided over an officers’ meeting today to discuss the status of the R&B Sector’s projects for the 2023–2024 fiscal year.
The responsible R&B Department personnel gave a thorough sector-by-sector review of the different projects and presented in-depth progress updates on the district’s development programs.
On this particular occasion, the chair was given an update on the status of different works being carried out in the district under the R&B sector by Superintending Engineer R&B Baramulla.
A total of Rs 129.49 crore of the budget that was made available was disclosed under the titles of different district development projects, such as District Capex, NABARD, ADF, SSY, etc., for which expenditures totaling Rs 54.24 crore had been realized. The remaining projects are either in the process of being bid or are nearing completion.
It was also emphasized that 315 km of the 364 km of road that were intended to be macadamized under different development programs had been done so for the current fiscal year. Comparably, significant work has been completed in the other regions, such as the pipe-laying projects, R/B walls, and drain work.
In the course of the meeting, the DDC gave the officers in attendance instructions to fulfill the developmental goals for the fiscal year 2023–24 within the allotted time frame and guarantee full realization of expenses by the end of December.
Additionally, Dr. Sehrish gave the revenue department instructions to help R&B clear any obstacles pertaining to land disputes, tree removal, and other concerns that might obstruct the advancement of development projects.
