According to the most recent statistics from the Gun Violence Archive, the nine mass shootings resulted in at least four fatalities and 35 injuries as of Sunday. A mass shooting is defined as an occurrence involving at least four victims either wounded or killed, not counting the gunman.

According to the data, which is gathered or confirmed from 7,500 sources daily, the website reported 404 mass shootings as of Sunday since the beginning of 2023, killing at least 453 people.

According to the anti-gun violence organisation, 161 children under the age of 12 were among those slain, and over 400 youngsters have been wounded in mass shootings this year.

The number of mass shootings increased by 9% over the previous year.

There were 365 mass shootings as of July 23, 2022, with a total of 647 mass shootings throughout the nation that year.

The rise indicated an increasing pattern of mass shootings in the United States.

In 2016, there were 383 mass shootings in the United States.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, the previous three years have all topped 600, with 2021 being the highest number — 690 mass shootings.
