Tuesday, September 26 in Srinagar, the president of the People’s Democratic Party, Mehbooba Mufti, demanded accountability for the portion of Lithium reserves discovered in the Reasi district that the government is likely to auction off to attract foreign investors.
Mehbooba Mufti stated in a post on X that after water and mineral resources, these Lithium reserves would be exploited and given to the BJP’s crony capitalists.
She stated that accountability must be demanded for the portion Jammu and Kashmir will receive.
“After acquiring J&K’s water resources and minerals, the Indian government has set its sights on Jammu’s lithium reserves. While the state-generated electricity is supplied to others (even for free), we are left in the dark. These lithium reserves will now be exploited and given to the crony capitalists of the BJP. We must demand accountability for the portion that J&K will receive,” she stated.
